Abstract: Discusses the machining performance of different electrode materials, namely brass wire and zinc-coated wire,in Wire-Cut Electrical Discharge Machining(WEDM).The Material Remove Rate, surface roughness and surface topography had been selected as the performance indicators. The results showed that, compared to the brass wire, the zinc-coated wire could obtain the higher material remove rate, smaller surface roughness and better surface topography when machining the Ti6Al4V steel.

Key words: Wire-Cut Electrical Discharge Machining(WEDM), electrode wire, brass wire, zinc-coated wire
