Abstract: Davenport power spectrum of pulsating wind and AR model method in the linear filtering method were employed to simulate wind velocity of pulsating wind field, the spectrum of pulsating wind was found in agreement with the target spectrum. The structure vibration response of a certain type of tower crane was calculated under the impact of static wind load and fluctuating wind load respectively based on the software ANSYS.A comparison between the computation results was also done.On the basis of the results, the method of AR model was accurate and effective for simulating pulsating wind field;the tower crane structure will have larger vibration under the impact of pulsating wind and the computation results will be unsafe if the pulsating wind wasn’t considered. The joint of the 4th jib and the 5th jib of tower crane is likely to arise maximum stress, which need pay attention to in the process of tower crane design.

Key words: tower crane, pulsating wind, AR model method, vibration response
