Torsional vibration characteristics experiment of simulating equipment on circumferential arc spring dual mass flywheel

Abstract: A simulation equipment of torsional vibration for dual mass flywheel was designed and built based on the research of torsional vibration characteristics of a new type damper.Inverter and torsional vibration motor were utilized as torsional vibration excitation device.Operation speed and torsional excitation could be adjusted in wide range,and collection and analysis of test signals are convenient.It could reduce the danger of testing on real cars and improve the testing efficiency.The design principle and equipment structure were introduced.Through a lot of trials of torsional vibration characteristics under different operating conditions such as no-load,loading and unloading of dual mass flywheel,relationships of the amplitude of torsional angles between two masses were analyzed.The results indicate that motor spindle end exist multiple resonances,whose torsional angle is larger,when the engine is at idle speed under the no-load condition.Dual mass flywheel has the effect of vibration isolation,and resonance speed can be reduced to below the idle speed.Under the load conditions,dual mass flywheel has the effect of vibration reduction,which halves the angle of torsional vibration amplitude,makes the resonance torsion angle around 0.005 rad finally.
