New transfer matrix analysis of acoustic characteristic of straight through perforated tube dissipative mufflers

Abstract: Based on the existing literature established one dimensional analytical model of acoustic characteristics of perforated tube dissipative mufflers,combining the traditional transfer matrix method and the precise integration method,puts forward a new transfer matrix method,and applied to analyzing the acoustic characteristics of straight through perforated tube dissipative mufflers.Comparison of analysis results between the related reference and the Finite Element Method(FEM),illustrates that the new transfer matrix method can effectively calculate the acoustic characteristics of perforated tube mufflers,and improves the computational efficiency.The new transfer matrix method was applied to analyze the structure parameters of this kind of the mufflers on the effect of transmission loss of sound,provides a more simple and convenient means for studying of the mufflers.
