Study on damping characteristics of piston-type particle dampers

Abstract: A new type of obstructed piston-type particle damper is proposed.Establish the theoretical model of damping force of the particle dampers.The experiment is carried out by LMS Test Lab software.Study the influence of the particle size,excitation frequency and initial load on the damping characteristics and verified the accuracy of the established theoretical model.It is found that the damping force of the damper is monotonically increasing with the increase of the initial load,and the vibration reduction is the best under high frequency excitation with 0.7 mm particle size.
