Abstract: The acoustic finite element method is used to predict the vehicle idle noise in the ear of driver by using the finite element simulation software Nastran which is powerful in acoustic finite element method. The results proved that the finite element simulation model is correct by making a comparison between the test results and simulation results. On the basis of this, the modal analysis is carried out,and the main modal order of the specific frequency was pointed out,and the measures to reduce the noise are put forward and effectively reduced the driver’s ear noise through these noise optimization measures.

Key words: idle noise, noise optimization measures, finite element method
