Experimental study on cryogenic cooling tool wearof superalloy GH4169

Abstract: High efficiency milling process for GH4169 superalloy,the effect of different cooling methods on the tool life of GH4169 superalloyis studied.CO2 cryogenic cooling and MQL cooling system is designed,CO2 cryogenic and MQL cooling of plung milling tool wear is tested,and compared with other cooling methods.From three angles of the wear curve,the wear image and the wear rate,the cutting tool wear amount,edge wear morphology and wear velocity are analyzed.The test results show that:CO2 cryogenic and MQL cooling to improve the tool endurance has significant effect,the methods could help to reduce tool wear,to improve the environment.The service life of GH4169 superalloy plunge milling cutter can be promoted by changing the cooling condition.
