Three-dimensional fluent field simulation on RCUECM

Abstract: The results of the single-factor experiments shows that the efficiency of small holes machined by the rotary combined ultrasonic and electrochemical machining is better than that by the rotary electrochemical machining at the same machining conditions.In order to analyze the effect of the rotation and the vibration of the cathode to the fluent field of the Rotary Combined Ultrasonic and Electrochemical Machining (RCUECM),the fluent simulation model of the RCUECM was established based on the ANSYS CFX.The results showed that the around flow is produced at the machining areas by the rotation of the cathode,which have little effect on the velocity and pressure of the electrolyte and the suction effect is produce by the vibration of the cathode,which accelerates the flow of the electrolyte and makes the pressure of the electrolyte fluctuate in the processing area,these are helpful for the updating of the electrolyte and the charging of the produces.
