Abstract: The refrigeration machinery shell material was annealed by the methods of common heat treatment and nitrogen assisted heat treatment. And the microstructure, wear resistance and damping property were tested and analyzed. The results show that compared with the common heat treatment, nitrogen assisted heat treatment improved significantly the wear resistance and damping property of the material, which made the wear volume at the temperature of 25℃ and 150℃ decrease by 65% and 77%,respectively,made the damping property at the temperature of 25℃ increase by 84%,and made the decline of damping performance decrease from 84% to 35%.

Key words: nitrogen assisted heat treatment, electronic machine shell, magnesium alloy, wear resistance, damping property
