Parameter algorithm and finite element analysis for large cross universal joint

Abstract: The cross universal joint on the rolling mill is of great bearing capacity,high transmission efficiency,big transmission torque and steady transmission.Its main failure forms include breakage of joint axle,plastic indent,pitting and spalling in the surface of axle neck.The strengths of the spindle,joint axle and fork and other parameters are calculated and verified according to the practical requirements and the finite element analysis of the stress and contact pressure of the joints is made and the satisfactory parameters are obtained.Adopt reasonable machining process technology to produce satisfactory spindles and apply it in practical production.
