The influence of pinion modification amount on the meshing performance of face gears

Abstract: In order to analyze the influence of the modification amount of pinion on the meshing performance of face gears,the tooth surface equation of the face gear pair was obtained based on the rack model of pinion,the motion trajectory of the dressing grinding wheel was calculated,and the modification amount of pinion was solved through the derivation of the equidistant curve of the cross-section profile of the grinding wheel. The relationship between tooth surface modification amount and modification parameters was analyzed based on the calculation results of pinion modification amount under different modification parameters,and tooth contact analysis of the gear tooth surface under different modification amounts was completed. The correlation law between pinion modification amount and the meshing performance of the face gear was obtained,these results provided a theoretical basis for the precision machining of the face gear.
