2D fractal dimension feature of annular parts based on fractal theory

Abstract: The analysis of typical mechanical parts synchronizer ring and gear shows that annular parts have an irregular self-similarity.Therefore,the use of fractal theory and fractal dimension algorithm (structure function method and the box method)to calculate the fractal dimension of synchronizer ring and gear,proved that measured characteristics of annular part can be expressed by fractal theory.Further research papers based on fractal characteristics of measuring parts of the annular defect identification problem.The results showed that:compared to structure function method to identify defects synchronizer ring,box method has better stability and accuracy;structure function method has better stability and accuracy to identify defects gear;using different parts of the ring different fractal dimension algorithm can calculate the different measurement characteristics.
