Abstract: The connecting device of converter is one of the important parts of converter system. In order to find out the stress variation law and dangerous point of the connecting device, taking 120t of converter connecting device as the research object, using UG to the whole of converter modeling and calculate the tilting moment under different angle, determine the three types of extreme working conditions and the overall analysis of the converter using ANSYS Workbench,to find out the stress variation law of the connecting device, and intensity analysis of main parts of connecting device, comparison of theoretical analysis and finite element analysis. The results show that:theoretical analysis and finite element results are consistent, the stress transfer in the connecting device is not uniform.Analysis of the stress variation law of the connecting device and put forward improvement measures, provide a theoretical reference for the optimization and improvement of converter connecting device.

Key words: connecting device, extreme working conditions, integral modeling, finite element analysis, theoretical analysis
